Pinewood Derby
What is it?
The Pinewood Derby is a racing event for unpowered, unmanned miniature cars. Pinewood derbies are often run by Packs of the Cub Scout program. With the help of adults, scouts build their own cars from wood, from kits containing a block of pine wood, plastic wheels, and metal axles.
When is it?
Typically, the Pinewood Derby is held in January or February. The date for the Pinewood Derby will be added to the Pack Calendar and shared at both Pack Events and Den meetings.
