Scouting for Food
What is it?
Scouting for Food is one of the nation’s largest food drives that Cub Scouts, Scouts, and Venturers participate in to support their local food pantries and hunger relief agencies.
Scouting for Food takes place on two consecutive weekends. On the first weekend, Cubs and Scouts distribute notices to let their neighbors know about the drive. On the second weekend, Scouts revisit those houses to pick up bags full of non-perishable food items (canned food, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, juice, etc.).
Pack 1965 is scouting for food in the Lake Braddock Community.
Suggested donations include:
Peanut butter & jelly
Cooking oil
Canned tuna or meat
Canned fruits & vegetables
Canned stews & soups
Oatmeal breakfast cereal
Whole grain pasta
100% juice
Rice
Boxed non-refrigerated milk
When is it?
Typically, Scouting for Food is held in November. The dates will be added to the Pack Calendar and shared at both Pack Events and Den meetings.
